The Hillary Lanaux Greve Memorial Scholarship Hillary Lanaux Greve graduated from SSA in May 1999. She was a funny, caring, committed young woman, who had the world before her. At the beginning of her freshman year at Tulane, cancer struck Hillary with a vengeance and after a noble battle; she died in January 28, 2001. In the spring of 2001, an extraordinary committee was formed to establish an endowed scholarship to Hillary’s memory. In a short period of time, Hillary’s mother, Hilda Lanaux, her sister Catherine, a 2000 SSA graduate, her classmates Stephanie Hendry and Caroline Barkerding took a lesson well learned from Hillary about leadership and getting the job done. They succeeded in establishing a scholarship in Hillary’s name that is designated for a junior entering her senior year who has demonstrated leadership abilities. To the committee who worked so hard to make this scholarship a reality, we know you love Hillary and are to be applauded for your leadership and commitment to her memory. The Hillary Lanaux Greve Memorial Scholarship represents a partial tuition scholarship.

The Benedictine Sisters Memorial Scholarship was funded originally by donations for scholarships in honor of Sister Eugenia Simoneaux, OSB, and Sister Jeanne D'Arc Kernion, OSB, two of the Sisters who served as administrators of the Academy. It is maintained as a lasting memorial to the Benedictine Sisters’ belief in, contribution to, and hope for their vision of Catholic education, which they gave form to and named St. Scholastica Academy. This scholarship is awarded annually at the end of the school year to a Junior who through her respect for others, involvement in school life, and concern for her studies, shows a belief in and appreciation for all that St. Scholastica Academy embodies. It represents a partial tuition credit applicable to the Senior year.

The Pure Dove Scholarship for Spiritual Achievement is being offered by Memorare Ministries and Kara Klein Productions. This $500 is awarded to a SSA Junior who strives to live a life of chastity and other Christian values. She must seek the Lord and live her life with God at the center. Judy Klein, mother of Kara Klein, who is a SSA alumna of the Class of 2004 and founder of Memorare Ministries is here to present the partial tuition scholarship.

The Four Pillars Scholarship is offered for the first time at SSA. It is awarded to a student who exemplifies the Benedictine tradition of prayer, work, study and community. Seniors were asked to nominate a student from 8th – 11th grade that they felt best exemplified the Benedictine tradition of prayer, work, study and community. This nomination was submitted in essay form. The nominations were reviewed and selected by the Administrative Team. The award is for a partial-tuition scholarship.

The Marguerite S. Celestin Scholarship In 2005, in recognition of 28 years of service as principal of St. Scholastica Academy, the SSA Parent Club honored Marguerite Celestin by creating an endowed scholarship in her name to be given annually to a junior who demonstrates strong academics, involvement in school activities, and generosity of spirit, friendliness, and love of SSA.

The St. Scholastica Academy Alumnae Association Endowed Scholarship The SSA Alumnae realized a need to extend their school spirit and the wonderful academics and experiences they received at their alma mater to a deserving student.
