St. Scholastica Academy took the 5A High School State Championship Title in Cross Country on Tuesday, November 17 at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. Carley Boyce, Rachel Despeaux, Angela Laborde, Claire Ledoux, Catherine Pereira, Lauren Salles, and Catherine Schroeder were the girls that ran to clinch the title. This team has competed at a very high level all season. Team members who traveled to the state competition include: Angela Laborde, Clare Ledoux, Mary Ann Talley, Maddy Maestri, Blaise Cole, Rachael Gautier, Catherine Pereira, Lauren Salles, Catherine Schroeder, Rachel Despeaux, Susan Broadbridge, Sarah Thiel, Caitlin Canatella, MC. Cazayoux, Bridget Stanga, Carly Loveland, Mallory Stubbs, Angelica Dickson, Kelly Heffernan, Gabby Heffernan, Hadley Modeen, Ashleigh Sparks, Alyce Myers, Rebecca Beatty, Sarah Thibodeaux, Emilia Perera, Maddie Morgan, Carley Boyce.The team is coached by Chris Pool and assisted by Kristi Becerra. The school is very proud of this team and being able to reach their goal as Louisiana State Champions.
